About
The Camp Forrest Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 under the leadership of Dr. Elizabeth Taylor.
The foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the memories and material history of Camp Forrest, William Northern Army Airfield, the Tennessee Maneuvers, the home front, civilians, service members, civilian internees, and prisoners of war.
Our mission is to create an understanding and appreciation of the sacrifices and contributions of everyone during World War II.
Our volunteers interpret this historical era for audiences through exhibits, professional presentations, and other public programs.
In 2024, a virtual museum was established, giving guests the opportunity to visit and learn at their convenience about the artifacts in our collection.
Our goal with this virtual museum is to reach visitors throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Pacific.
We encourage guests to visit often, as artifacts are added on a quarterly basis.
Several of our historical partners have Camp Forrest displays and exhibits open to the public.
Feel free to visit these organizations when you’re in the area.
We encourage anyone with stories or artifacts to contact Dr. Elizabeth Taylor (404-316-2753 or [email protected]) so we can ensure your history is not lost to time.
Meet Our Founder

Dr. Elizabeth Taylor began her passion for researching Camp Forrest in 2013.
Her first book, Images of America: Camp Forrest, was published in 2016 and is a pictorial history of life at a major military installation during World War II.
Her follow-up book, Voices of Camp Forrest in World War II, was published in 2019 and provides firsthand accounts of the lives of civilians and service members at Camp Forrest.
Dr. Taylor conducts exhibits and presentations throughout the Southeast on several topics related to this era in United States history.
